Robert M. Petersen, Managing Director and CEO

As Managing Director and CEO, Robert is responsible for directing the strategic initiatives of the company. He also serves on the Board of Directors and is instrumental in company operations.

Robert holds Bachelor of Science Degrees in Finance, Banking, and Real Estate from San Francisco State University and is licensed by the California Department of Real Estate. He is an active investor in both residential and commercial real estate throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Prior to GP Capital, he was the executive vice president and one of two owners of Sequoia Mortgage Capital, a private mortgage bank headquartered in San Rafael that specializes in short-term private loans secured by Bay Area real estate. He was involved in all aspects of lending and instrumental in the underwriting and due diligence processes.  Prior to joining Sequoia as EVP he managed a team of reverse mortgage loan officers and was one of the top 100 producers in the country.

Robert is a 4th generation Bay Area resident and includes the Oakland home his great-grandfather built in 1912 in his real estate portfolio.  During free time he enjoys spending time with his family in the Sierra Foothills, regular hikes with his dogs, backcountry camping, mountain biking, skiing and travel.
